With over 160 years of experience in providing banking and financial solutions for individuals and businesses, The National Commercial Bank is part of the largest financial institution in the Eastern Carribbean. The National Commercial Bank of Grenada Limited was established in October 1979 with its first branch in Grenville. In July 1992, Republic Bank Limited bought 51% of shares in the Bank from the Government of Grenada. Ownership of the remaining 49% of shares is distributed among Grenadians residing locally and abroad and local companies, members of staff, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), Antigua Commercial Bank, NCB Dominica and Anguilla National Bank Ltd.

The growth of The National Commercial Bank has been gradual over the years and now has a branch network of nine branches. Over the last year, the Bank added two new machines to its ATM network - a second machine at the Granby Street location and one at its Carriacou branch. With this they expanded their ATM network to eight machines, the largest in the state of Grenada.
The National Commercial Bank as a good corporate citizen have always put forward philanthropic efforts and have always been focused on projects which make a difference at the community level. Projects coordinated and implemented by the employees of the branches of The National Commercial Bank are at the heart of the Bank’s community-focused activities. Employees of The National Commercial Bank have joined with the members of their community in providing assistance where it is most needed. From the donation of a refrigerator to the School for Special Education, to the provision of furniture for the Carriacou hospital, they have done it all.
